I’m over-the-moon excited about being a part of the recent 5th Friday Art Exhibit in Pauls Valley, OK! It was AMAZING!! I’ve attended these shows countless times over the years with my artist husband, Keith Murray, but except for one small hometown event at a local gallery four years ago, I’ve never done it as an emerging artist!
It was phenomenal! It was phenomenal because … I was ready.
Sometimes things just take longer than you think they should to come into being. Sometimes longer than other people think they should. But that’s okay. It takes whatever it takes, and as long as you don’t give up the dream, there’s integrity embedded in the timing.
I launched my mixed media Shaman Series at the show, and I was completely blown away by the response: I sold every piece I had for sale except one! I want to send out a very special ‘THANK YOU!’ to my crew – you know who you are – who came out and supported me.
At one point, the four of us brought the entire gallery to a momentary halt with our jumping-up-and-down-scream-fest!
Little tip: if you don’t want to be the center of attention, don’t EVER do this in public. But I must say, it was a high point in an evening of high points.
It’s so liberating to give yourself permission to just be IN JOY and not care about what others think! And to have friends who will help you do this? Utterly priceless. I’m humbled and stoked by the experience.
Now I’ve got to get back into the studio and rebuild my stock. It’s definitely one problem I don’t mind having!
